The Surfer

(2025)

Surf the insanity—only Nicolas Cage can ride the sun‑scorched edge of sanity.

Returning to the sun-blasted Western-Australian beach where he first learned to surf, a middle-aged businessman (Nicolas Cage) hopes to share one perfect wave with his teenage son and buy back the cliff-top home of his childhood. Instead, they are confronted by the Bay Boys, an aggressive local surf gang led by the sinister Scally (Julian McMahon). Humiliated and cut off from help, the father refuses to leave. As the noon heat rises and the tide turns, reality fractures: visions of the past blur with waking nightmares, and the once-polished executive devolves into a feral beach phantom determined to win a single ride—no matter what it costs in blood, dignity, or sanity.

“The Surfer” is a hallucinatory thriller about toxic masculinity, parental guilt and the primal pull of the ocean.
